Heritage Properties Awarded HDIP Funding for New Multifamily Community

Heritage Properties was recently awarded funding from the state’s Housing Development Incentive Program (HDIP) to support the development of 218 Middlesex Street, our new multifamily community in downtown Lowell, MA!

218 Middlesex Street will be a 37-unit building, situated on a vacant lot at the corner of Middlesex and Pearl streets in Lowell’s JAM (Jackson/Appleton/Middlesex) urban renewal neighborhood zone. The community, once completed, will be known as The Emery. The name draws its inspiration from Lowell’s legacy of textile manufacturing and the city’s growing community of artists.

HIDIP supports gateway cities with funding to develop much-needed housing while increasing residential growth, expanding diversity of housing stock, supporting economic development, and promoting neighborhood stabilization in designated areas.

“We’re incredibly grateful for our ongoing partnership with the state of Massachusetts, EOHLC, and the City of Lowell,” said Jeff Bush, President of Heritage Properties. “As a locally owned company founded in Lowell over 45 years ago, we’re thrilled to contribute to the growth and success of the JAM district and to be among those bringing much-needed, high-quality housing to our local community.”
