200 more housing units coming to Downtown Lowell

Heritage Properties plans to build a six-story, mixed-use building of roughly 200 units on the former District Courthouse site on Hurd Street in Downtown Lowell. The locally owned firm was chosen through a 2025 request for proposals to bring mixed-use residential development to the formerly state-owned property. The project continues Heritage's investment in Lowell's downtown following The Emery, and adds much-needed housing to the heart of the city.
